I first fished the Bristol Bay region of Alaska in 1976 while on a personal caribou hunt on the Cinder River. I started guiding in Bristol Bay in 1982 for famous Alaska guide Bob Cusack at his lodge on Iliamna Lake. I returned from guiding and flying for a safari Company in Botswana in 1989 and became a pilot guide at Kulik Lodge, the premier lodge in Alaska. In 1990 I assumed the managers role but continued to fly and guide nearly every day thru 1999 when I moved to California to develop a fishing resort in wine country. I returned to pilot guiding in Alaska in 2018 and have continued there ever since with the exception of the covid year 2020.
Although comfortable with a fly rod, more than any other style of fishing, Lynn loves trolling in salt water, and is very competitive. After all, she grew up fishing Puget Sound with her parents while living in Seattle. She is also a trained chef and “foodie” expert. Her evaluations of lodge and outfitter food offerings are always reliable. Lynn has researched and with Bo, fished in some of the most fun and rewarding tournaments available ion the West Coast like the fabled West Coast Resorts Salmon Masters Tournaments from 2012 thru 2018 (West Coast Resorts closed their doors in 2019) and the ever so popular “Fishin for the Mission” Tournament in Loreto, Mexico in 2015. With more than 25 teams in the running, Team Bennett was happy to finish in 5th place just 3 pounds total weight behind the leader.
